Annual Report for 2019-20

It’s less than three months since the end of the last financial year and the Diocese of Leeds is in the happy position of having filed our accounts for the year ended 31 March 2020 with the Charity Commission. The document was signed by Bishop Marcus at a meeting of the Board of Directors on 23 June 2020. The efficiency with which this process was accomplished is a tribute to the close co-operation that exists between the Parish Priests, Parish Administrators and staff in the Diocesan Curia. This is especially true this year given the difficulties for clergy and staff created by the Coronavirus Pandemic and this period of lock-down.

Much can be gleaned from the Report of the Trustee about the status of our Diocese as a registered charity and the various activities which are carried out during the course of the year. This report is addressed to the wider public so that we can publicise how our Diocese, under the leadership of Bishop Marcus, achieves its charitable objectives. While much of the Financial Statements might only attract the attention of accountants and their like, there is actually some interesting information contained within its pages as well.
