A Royal Patronage Benefits our Churches

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has been Patron of the National Churches Trust since 1953 when the Historic Churches Preservation Trust, its predecessor charity, was founded. In that time, the Trust has supported over 12,000 churches with grants and loans in excess of £100 million. To mark Queen Elizabeth’s support for churches, the NCT has produced a special Jubilee Proclamation which thanks her for her patronage of church buildings and heritage.

In the past few years generous grants from the National Churches Trust have supported essential maintenance and repair works carried out at the Sacred Heart Church, Howden, St Edward’s, Clifford and St Peter’s Church, Bradford.

The Diocese of Leeds is delighted to join the NCT in celebrating Her Majesty The Queen and her outstanding support of churches and their heritage as a part of the Platinum Jubilee commemoration.
