40 Days for Life Leeds runs between 27 September and 5 November 2023 – and needs volunteers!
There will be a peaceful prayer vigil from 7am to 7pm every day for 40 days on the pavement outside MSI, 45 Barrack Road, Leeds, LS7 4AB. (NB – Recent changes to the law may require us to be more than 150m from the facility in which case we will re-locate!)
To get involved or volunteer to make a personal commitment to pray and fast, or to join them on the pavement for one or more hours, please contact Chris Redding via 0781 568 1343 or 40daysforlifeleeds@gmail.com Find out more at the 40 Days for Life Leeds Information Evening on Tuesday 19 September from 7pm to 8pm at Holy Family Church, Armley, Leeds LS12 1HU.
Volunteers are asked to adhere to a statement of peace, agreeing to be law abiding, peaceful, showing compassion and reflecting Christ’s love to all!
Two testimonies from 40 Days for Life Leeds:
- A father stopped in car with 1 year old child. He thanked volunteers for being there a year ago when mum was considering abortion, but changed her mind after seeing volunteers praying there.
- A young woman came past. In conversation she said ‘I wish you were here four years ago when I was forced to have an abortion,’
Please consider volunteering to hear more joyful stories like theirs!
40 Days for Life is a worldwide campaign of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil outside abortion facilities and community outreach. The last sign of hope and first sign of mercy for those attending facilities, clients and staff. Since 2007, 40 Days for Life campaigns have resulted in more than 20,000 babies and their mothers being saved from the tragedy of abortion and many others have been helped on the journey of reconciliation and healing following their abortion.
