The Diocesan Vocations Team, which was set up in the spring of 2005, has established five objectives, namely:

1. To preach on vocations to the priesthood in deaneries of the diocese, according to a rolling programme.
2. In liaison with school chaplains, to coordinate presentations on the priesthood to Year 10 students in all our high schools each year and to attend careers evenings when these occur.
3. To coordinate annual presentations on the priesthood by parish priests to Year 6 pupils in all our primary schools each year.
4. To foster prayers for vocations throughout the diocese.
5. To develop means of publicising initiatives, including use of the website, the diocesan newspaper, "Catholic Post", and promotional leaflets.
