York Newman Circle - Programme of Lectures February to June 2019

The Newman Association meet regularly in local “circles” to discuss and develop their understanding of the Christian faith.

 

Two distinguished speakers from the Diocese of Leeds (Dr James Hagerty and Fr Colum Kelly) have been invited to give two of the lectures.

 

Monday 18 February

Dr James Hagerty: Priests and prisoners: Ministering to the Enemy in World War Two

 

Monday 18 March

Fr Colum Kelly, Regional Port Chaplain: Apostleship of the Sea: 90% of Everything

Monday 3 June A.G.M. Followed by lecture

Dr Rik Van Nieuwenhove, University of Durham: Saved by the Cross – what can that possibly mean? A Thomist Answer

 

All talks will take place at the Bar Convent, Blossom Street, York at 7.30 pm. Tea and coffee will be available from 7 pm. Members £1.00, non-members £2.00, students free. All are welcome.
