St Wilfrid's Poppy Appeal
9th November 2017
This year, students at St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School in North Featherstone have been working together to help raise even more money for the 2017 poppy appeal. Two pupils in year nine have helped to design and make a batch of unique poppy badges to sell to staff and students in the run up to Remembrance Day.
The seeds of the idea came when the students were completing a jewellery design project in design and technology and had an idea that they could make a batch of them and sell them in school and donate the proceeds to charity.
The students set to work on production assembling badges and a batch of 200 was made with an agreed selling price of £2.00 each.
The badges were on sale from the school Chaplaincy and around school at form time and had sold out after seven days. The final donation to the Royal British Legion came to a total of £409.36.
Thank you to everyone around school involved in the design, production and selling of the badges and of course thank you to everyone who supported the project with their kind donations.
