Students from Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, Leeds have won national acclaim at a London awards ceremony for their animated short film The Magic Pencil. Into Films have announced the school's film as the winner of the Best Animation prize in the under 12's category.

Previously named Film of the Month winner for July 2016, The Magic Pencil tells the story of a girl who finds a pencil that does her homework for her. Hilarity ensues as she uses the pencil to alter the work of her classmates, before she realises that using her new power may lead to unexpected consequences...

Writer and Into Films awards judge Kirk Weddell said "Comedy is a very difficult thing to do well but this had me smiling all the way through."

A further judge previously commented that the film showed "Lovely use of animation, editing and live action filmmaking to create a wonderful short. Very original idea and brilliant execution."

Congratulations to all involved!
