Safeguarding Policy Statement

We, the Clergy and Hospitality team of the Pilgrimage, believe in the personal dignity and rights of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and take seriously our responsibility to protect their wellbeing.

We will do all in our power to ensure that the Pilgrimage provides a safe and caring environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults so as to prevent abuse of any kind.

We will liaise closely with statutory agencies to ensure that any allegations that may arise are properly dealt with, victims supported and perpetrators held to account.

All associated with the Pilgrimage organisation and those involved in ministering to or working with children, young people and vulnerable adults are committed to establishing high standards of practice in accordance with Diocesan Safeguarding procedures and other Church or national guidance.

The Pilgrimage Protection Officers are:
Mr Pat McDermott and Ms Angela Harvey
Every safeguarding issue reported or raised on pilgrimage
will be addressed and taken seriously.
