The local scene
Interfaith dialogue is the very core of the work of the Commission whether helping members of the diocese to engage in dialogue or actually “dialoguing” on behalf of the diocese.
This work throws up questions about the legitimacy of dialogue with others while not compromising one’s own standpoint together with questions about how far co-operation can go.
Those of you who were around in the early days of ecumenical activity will recognise the territory!
The diocese and the Commission are fortunate in having Mgr Billy Steele to call upon to guide us in this work.
His thoughtful and comprehensive expositions form a key constituent in the talks and courses that the Commission will arrange on request.
