February 26th, 2010 - High Court Case
In the Dioceses of Hallam, Leeds and Middlesbrough a pastoral letter was read out this weekend that explains why Catholic Care is taking a special case to the High Court this coming week.
The letter explains that since the passing of the Equality Act in 2006 Catholic Care has been fighting to re-establish its rights to still run an adoption agency... ‘and to operate according to our beliefs in marriage and family life'. The letter goes on to say: ‘If Catholic Care is forced to close its adoption service it is children who will lose an effective and well respected resource in the Yorkshire region.'
