Rationale:

• This sacrament is foundational for ongoing conversion and growth in discipleship

• It is often misunderstood and poorly used and celebrated

• It has individual and communal dimensions that need to be appreciated at all levels

• Focusing on reconciliation will include reconciliation with the poor, with other Christians and with people of other religious traditions.
