LEEDS CATHEDRAL CHOIR SUPPORT GROUP CONSTITUTION

1. THE AIMS
The Group is set up to further the work of the Cathedral Choirs. In the event of it ceasing to exist, all assets of the Group shall be handed over to the Cathedral Dean who shall use them in accordance with the aims of the Group listed below.

The aim of the Group is to provide a means for all those with concerns for the wellbeing of the Cathedral Choirs to support their work in many different ways and to raise money to that end. It shall be the business of the Group to support Choir tours, special outings and to provide help if and when it is requested by the Director of Music. The day-to-day running of the choirs is not within the brief of this Group.

2. OFFICERS AND COMMITTEE 
The Cathedral Dean shall be the Ex-officio President Fr. Philip Moger shall be the first Chairman There shall be as many patrons as the Committee shall agree – the Bishop of the Diocese being one.

3. At the Annual General Meeting to be held during the Winter term, the Group shall elect the following Officers:
(a) Vice Chairman
(b) Minute Secretary
(c) Treasurer

All the above are elected to serve a term of two years in the first instance.

4. Also at the AGM, the Group shall elect a Committee of no more than twelve people (six elected each year) to serve a term of two years each, to include parents, two members of the Adult Choir and any other interested parties. The Director of Music shall be an ex-officio member.

5. The Diocesan Director of Finance or his representative shall oversee the Group’s Accounts. The Treasurer shall submit yearly accounts to the Diocesan Director of Finance and shall present them to the AGM.

6. The Committee shall meet at least four times a year.

7. No alteration may be made to this Constitution without the approval of the Annual General Meeting at least before it shall come into operation, and the approval of the Cathedral Dean.
