Team Members CARES has two full time members: Fr. John Wilson, BA, STB, STL,
PhD - Fr. John is the Episcopal Vicar for Evangelisation and Director
of CARES. He studied theology at Leeds University before training
for the priesthood at the Venerable English College in Rome. Ordained
in 1995, he worked in parishes in Pontefract, Wakefield and Bradford
before moving in 1999 to teach moral theology at St. Cuthbert’s
Seminary, Durham, where latterly he was also Vice Rector. He returned
to the Diocese in December 2004 to take up his current position. Linda Pennington, BA - Linda
was born and educated in Manchester. For more than 20 years she
has been involved in Religious Education, teaching in both primary
and secondary schools and at Trinity and All Saints in Horsforth.
In addition she has worked as an advisory RE teacher in the London
borough of Hillingdon. Since the early 1980s Linda has been involved
in Parish Catechetics and in August 2002 was appointed to be the
Diocesan RE Advisor for Parish Catechetics. Linda has been a Diocesan
Section 23 Inspector since January 2002. She is married with 3 children
and a mad Border collie named Flash.
